The Aftermarket Sales Manufacturer (ASM) Sales Specialist is responsible for the activity and development of ASM client relationships. They will exercise continuous, detailed engagement with ASM accounts and Sales staff in order to adhere to and cooperate with centralized global objectives and processes, leading to sustained ASM sales performance and growth for DT Swiss, Inc. (USA) and DT Swiss AG (Switzerland).

 

  • Participate dynamically and continually to achieve the overall global sales goals, reporting on American ASM performance in a fact-based, data-oriented fashion and method. 
  • Remain in constant communication with the client base assigned.
  • Travel to key clients frequently so as to maintain strong personal relationships. The expectation is that you will be out of the office traveling 35% - 50% of your time (travel time is subject to change depending on business needs).
  • Participate daily in the maintenance and updating of the CRM process.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding as to what our competitors are doing within the market.
  • Perform sales-related project tasks as assigned by management.  
  • As instructed by the responsible supervisor, it is possible to be assigned additional individual tasks, which are of operational relevance or related to the employee’s job or development. The employee must complete the tasks as instructed by their supervisor.

 

MUST HAVE QUALITIES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree related to business, sales, or other related field.
  • Previous relevant work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in sales or customer service within the cycling industry.
  • Technical knowledge of cycling products.
  • Customer relationship management (CRM) experience
  • Computer skills -- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) and proficiency with CRM system.
  • Must be cooperative, flexible, reliable, honest, and ethical.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to articulate business needs, project needs, and deadlines to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal business skills with clients and cohorts of various nationalities and business styles.
  • Capable of providing exceptional collaboration with all relevant personnel within our clients so as to assess their needs and provide solutions.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail & accuracy, and analytical capabilities.
  • Able to prioritize competing tasks, accommodate rapid change, and dynamically complete duties as needed to achieve deadlines.
  • Extremely proficient in communicating highly-technical subject matter to any audience.
  • Effective working in teams, alongside cohorts of DT Swiss and other industry brands, or independently.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members and clients.
  • Resolve conflict by seeking constructive approaches to resolving workplace issues.
  • Ability to utilize critical and strategic thinking to aid in decision-making and exercising sound judgment.
  • Ability to utilize negotiation skills when necessary.
  • Demonstrate initiative, optimism, and politeness.
  • Possess a desire to take on new challenges, learn new techniques, and continuous development of professional skillset.
  • Ability to effectively to motivate and inspire team members in a team-oriented and driven environment.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Ability to sit or stand for at least 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more. 

 

PREFERRED QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • In-depth knowledge of the cycling industry.
  • Experience interfacing with international customers and suppliers.
  • SAP, or other large enterprise resource planning (ERP) software experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or German.
